Accidents and spills happen. If you have a big family and multiple pet kids or pets  you can expect to have at

least a few spills each week if not daily.  

But if you have a professional spot cleaning solution available, you can keep them from causing set-in stains

that are more difficult once they dry and oxidize the fibers. 

Make sure that you have carpet cleaning towels on-hand that are dye free.

When cleaning up, gentle blot – don’t scrub the stain or you could possibly damage the fibers.

Here are some other recommendations:

• If the spill has solid material like food or even stool use a dull knife and gently lift from underneath the material to get up as much as possible. Sometimes I even will left with paper towels from underneath and pull up the soil material. 
• Try vinegar and water and use a blotting technique to over what you can, spraying just a little solution as possible 
•  to pull up the stain.
• Vacuum using a shop vac to extract as much moisture as possible and repeat those steps if necessary. 
• Add a little more manager and water if necessary to remove the stain, and repeat until it’s gone.
• Only use spot cleaning solutions that are approved by the IICRC for your particular spot or stains. 
• If using carpet cleaning products on sensitive material like wool or cotton be sure to test on a small area in the corner of the room  to ensure that it doesn’t bleed the dye. 
• change the carpet’s color.

 Taking immediate action to clean up spills will help prevent stains from setting in and keep your carpet    

  looking its best. In life accidents always will happen, but if you act quickly enough, no one will ever know

  they happened.
