When it comes to spot cleaning ink very well maybe one of the worst stains you can get in your carpets. Many different things have ink such as art supplies, printers, markers but the most common things people use with ink are pens. Anyone who's ever has a pen bust on them knows that it can be real messy. Why, ink is a liquid that has a composition of pigments and or dye's. The problem that you have here is that dye's are going to do what dye's do. They will dye your carpets. So you have to be very careful of how you try to clean it. What You Will Require:

A clean dye free towels. a normal steaming iron, and a bottle of hydrogen time released peroxide

What to do:

1. From the outside in take your towel and gently absorb the ink as not to spread it and make it worse. then apply the hydrogen peroxide on the ink stain.

2. Lay the towel over the ink stain.

3. Gently put your steam iron on the towel. Make sure your steaming iron is on a low setting. Allow the iron to rest on the towel for 20 to 30 seconds allowing the ink to absorb into the towel. This process is what we refer to as dye transfer.

Repeat the process with another towel if needed until the ink stains is removed.  Monitor the entire process closely allowing more or less time with the heated iron as needed. Be sure not to leave the iron on too long as is can melt the carpets if it's polyester, as polyester is made from plastics. You should be able at the very least lighten up the stain a great deal.
