Post Instructions After My Carpet Cleaning: Carpet Cleaning Castle Rock
After your carpets have been professionally steam or dry cleaned, it’s important that you know what to do and what not to do after your carpet cleaning appointment. Here are some suggestions for you by TLC Carpet Care and The IICRC.
- Your carpet will be barely be wet after the completion of the cleaning pending weather conditions and the thickness of the carpet. So, keep the kids and the pets off the carpet until it's completely dry if possible. If you do have to walk on the carpet clean socks is preferred and certainly tell the kids not to run. Absolutely no shoes. Make sure that you don't walk on the stairs, there is always the chance of slipping and falling especially if you walk from carpet to a smooth surface such as marble or travertine. Lastly you certainly don't want to mat down he carpet before it's dry.
- Turn on any fans that you may have wether they be floor or ceiling fans an do not turn up the heat as this can add moisture to the air. Open windows when humidity and other outdoor conditions are not cold or below freezing. Attic fans are also beneficial to the drying process. If the conditions outside are too hot and humid, you can use your air conditioner as a dehumidifier.
- How long does it take to dry? Pending the type of carpet. Low pile synthetic carpets like polyester dry relatively quick, where as a shag carpet could take several hours, even a day. Also if the carpet cleaning was taking awhile due to heavily soiled conditions the carpet will be more saturated which will add to the overall dry time.
- You need wait for the carpets to dry before you remove any blocks or tabs that were placed under the furniture. Doing so can cause furniture bleeding and or rust, This can damage the carpet and the furniture. Don’t place any furniture back on your cleaned carpet until the next day. If you have any rugs don't not put them on the carpets until the next day, or the carpet won't dry effectively and you will get mold.
- Do not put back any plants or any decor back on the carpet until completely dry.
