When you wake in the morning the first thing we look for is that first cup of coffee. Some of will make a run to Starbucks. As wonderful as the coffee is, it's not so wonderful when we spill it on the carpets. The problem with cleaning up coffee is that coffee is a very aggressive protein and it really raises the ph levels off the charts. • Begin by using a clean towel to absorb as much of the coffee as possible from the carpet from the outside in. 
• Prepare a cleaning solution by combining one cups of warm water, one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid, and one tablespoon of white vinegar.
• You can repeat this process if necessary. 
• Then use a clean white towel or cloth with your made solution and gently blot the coffee. 
• Rinse the area by blotting with another white towel in cold water.
• Finally, blot the area dry to remove excess moisture and place a fan on the carpet for drying.
• You can apply the same method to tea and other protein stains from the carpet as well.
