In the event that your home ever gets flood their are some basic things to be aware of. First and formats you want to find the source of the leak and or flood. If your not sure then calling a Plumber will usually be the best corse of action. Then you will want to call out a carpet cleaners or a Flood restoration company to help with the drying out process. Can I do this myself you might ask. No in short if you have water damage then more than likely their will be moisture that you may not see. Wether it be in the padding of your carpet. Ot could be in your drywall or subfloor. You may have moisture in your crawl space.

Water damage can be deceptive. Water penetrates into structural cavities creating trapped pockets of saturation. The detection of water in these areas can often only be discovered with sophisticated moisture detection meters. Undetected moisture will continue to cause damage. This damage, at a minimum, will cause odors. Greater damage will surface when materials delaminate, shrink, split and further deteriorate to where costly repairs are required.
